Cleveland Browns: 6 dark horse players to target in the 2018 NFL Draft
3. Jeffrey Wilson, RB, North Texas
Projected round: 7th
North Texas hasn’t had a player selected in the NFL Draft for 14 years, but running back Jeffrey Wilson could change that.
In his final collegiate season, Wilson rushed for 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns on 188 carries. He amassed those statistics despite missing the final three games with a foot injury.
His 5-11, 194-pound frame make doesn’t compare to other early down running backs according to NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, but he doesn’t need to carry that role in his rookie season with the Browns.
With the addition of Carlos Hyde matched with Duke Johnson, the Browns have proven runners at the position and the fact that Wilson has a nose for end zone and has demonstrated an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield make him an intriguing day 3 selection.
