As the Cleveland Cavaliers face elimination from the NBA playoffs, head coach Ty Lue seat should be as hot as it can get.

The head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers has no idea what happened to his team during their Game 6 route at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.

Really, Ty? No idea?

How about less Jeff Green? And playing Tristan Thompson and Green, together?

How about some lineups? Remember how rejuvenated the squad looked wen Cedi Osman started getting some serious minutes just after the trade deadline.

Cedi against the Warriors? A little scary. But Cedi against an ordinary team, like the Pacers? He might surprise you.

Or what about surrounding LeBron James with some shooters. You’re relying on him to get you out of this mess, might well open up the lane and throw some heavy artillery out there to help him out.

Here’s Lue exact quote when asked how the game got away from the Cavs in third quarter, via Jason Lloyd of the The Athetlic.

"“I don’t really remember, I really don’t, it happened so quick,” Lue said. “I’ve got to look at it, I don’t really remember,” Lue said."

And Lloyd’s response:

"“Not a good look to not have some sort of answer for how it all went so wrong so quickly. So James took a shot at it.”"

If there’s some defense of Lue, it’s that he probably never would of guessed that Kevin Love would play so horribly. Love is playing with left-thumb injury on his non-shooting hand.

He was 3-of-10 for seven points in the Game 6 loss.

Lue used Love to blitz Victor Oladipo on pick-and-rolls, and needless to say, it didn’t work. Oladipo went off for 28 points and the Cavs’ coach thinks the defensive effort he asked Love to output may have fatigued him.

The Cavs have done an excellent job locking up Oladipo lately, and this wasn’t the best strategy.

Hey Ty, you need someone, anyone, to provide offense not named LeBron James. For as great as he is, he can’t score 125 points per game.

Game 7 should be viewed as a toss up because who knows which version of the Cavs will show up. If Lue’s still out of answers after an early exit from the playoffs, he darned better well have some answers.

The series finale tips off at 1 p.m. from Quicken Loans Arena. LeBron James has never gone to seven games during the first round of the playoffs throughout his entire career.
