Cleveland Indians: 5 best prospects you don’t know (but should)
Ben Krauth, RP, Hillcats
Ben Krauth, former 16th-rounder in 2016, has shown a knack for striking batters out in Advanced-A, fanning 34 in 22 1/3 innings with Class A (Advanced) Lynchburg.
He’s ERA’s gone a bit north lately (4.04), but he’s still holding opposing batters to a .218 average.
The 24-year-old lefty is another reliever who could be on the Indians radar as early as next season.
Krauth was needed at Class AA Akron in April and appeared in a game with the RubberDucks before returning to Lynchburg. In his outing with RubberDucks, the 6-foot, 180-pound left hander threw two scoreless innings. He gave up two hits, and didn’t strike out anyone.
Krauth played four years of college ball, starting at Diablo Valley Junior College before transferring to Kansas.
