LeBron James: 6 trades Cleveland Cavs must consider with or without LBJ
Enable the Philly dynasty
This trade only works if LeBron chooses Philadelphia as his next destination.
Cavs’ fans saw first-hand what happens to a franchise when LeBron decides to play for you. You’ve got to move assets around to create cap space, because James doesn’t come cheap.
The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor initially threw this trade out, and it’s one Cavs’ fans should pay attention to.
James is outta here no matter what, so you might as well recoup something, and Markelle Fultz would an intriguing add. Cleveland would also have to take on some additional salaries, but they’d be getting a player I’m not ready to give up on in Fultz, in addition to a draft asset.
The 76ers have the 10th and 26th picks in the first round, in addition to a couple second-rounders. If Philadelphia tries to load up for James, the organization doesn’t need those rookies this year.
Philadelphia includes Futlz in the deal because they need the Cavs to take on the salaries of players such as Robert Covington and Dario Saric.
