2. On Sexton’s debut

Collin Sexton‘s debut was pretty much on par with what I thought. He scored 15, shot 4-of-12 from the field, compiled seven rebounds, but didn’t have an assist!

Say what?

That’s right, Sexton didn’t compile an assist in his 29 minutes of play. Some of that has to do with players not knocking down shots once Sexton got them the ball.

Sexton isn’t exactly playing with the varsity unit. As a team, the Cavs shot 35.6 from the field. Russell Westbrook would have a tough time getting an assist with his teammates shooting this poorly.

With that said, Sexton only averaged 3.6 assists per game in his lone season at Alabama. He’s not known for his court vision.

Will it ever come? Some argue that attribute is God given.

It’s just the Summer League, but none-the-less, it’s the first taste of pro basketball for the 19-year-old. Hopefully he drops at least one dime the next time he laces ’em up.

Sexton also signed a deal with Nike, just like former Cleveland superstars James and Kyrie Irving.
