2. Jeff Janis, WR

Jeff Janis showed why he’s an under-the-radar player who could standout during the preseason on Day of Cleveland Browns’ Training Camp, hauling in a nice over-the-shoulder-pass from quarterback Drew Stanton.

Janis also figures to standout because of the state of the Browns’ receiving corps.

Nobody knows when Josh Gordon will return and Ricardo Louis just got played on season ending injured reserve. Plus, late-round draft pick Damion Ratley was seen walking on the field for treatment.

The Browns knew receiver would need some added depth and that’s why the organization was working out Eli Rogers earlier in the week.

With the void, Janis could really standout, especially in preseason games where the Browns assuredly won’t be running Jarvis Landry into the ground.

The Browns didn’t sign him to be some elite receiving target, but he may be the type of player who comes up with a big reception as just the right time.

Janis was viewed as a cult hero among Packers fans as someone who worked their but off on special teams, but never really got much of an opportunity on offense.

Look no further, Jeff.

Janis signed a $1.25 million contract with the Browns, which included a $100,000 workout bonus. He’ll have to make the roster to collect the full salary.
