Opportunity calling for Callaway

The trade of Corey Coleman created big opportunities for the next man up and fortunately for the Browns, there were some intriguing prospects waiting behind the former first-round pick on the depth chart.

Get to know the name Antonio Callaway. He’s going to get opportunities, now that the Browns have moved on from Coleman.

Callaway was a fourth-round gamble the Browns took. The Florida product didn’t even play last year because of off-the-field issues.

But since joining the Browns, all he’s done is impress with his field awareness. At minicamp, Callaway impressed by making sideline catches that would make a five-year-vet jealous with how he kept his feet in bounds.

Callaway was behind Coleman on the the team’s first unofficial depth chart, so logically, he’d move into a starter’s role until Gordon comes back.

And if that happens, Callaway could play the slot, or rotate with Jarvis Landry on the outside.

Jeff Janis will also benefit from Coelman’s departure. Many view him as a sleeper whose alarm is waiting to buzz. Janis was a cult hero in Green Bay who some felt didn’t get the playing time he deserved.
