With Josh Gordon‘s return, the wide receiving corps is becoming crowded.

If the Browns take six receivers, who do they keep? Gordon, Jarvis Landry, and Antonio Callaway are locks for the top three spots. Rashard Higgins is probably safe too, so that’s four spots.

After that, you’ve got Damion Ratley, Jeff Janis, D’Mario Scott, C.J. Board and Derrick Willies competing for the final two spots.

If you think Janis has an upper hand because of his connection to Assistant GM Eliot Wolf, that means Ratley’s fighting for the last spot.

If that’s the case, he’s making it very hard on the Browns to cut him or even try to stash him away on the practice squad.

Ratley followed up a decent outing against the Bills where really no receivers stood out with a practice where he got some rare reps with the first team.

Ratley was a sixth-round pick out of Texas A&M.

The Browns moving and shaking within the receiving room will be worth watching entering Week 1. Cleveland’s looking at free agents, Dez Bryant among them (although I think it’s unlikely now), and there’s always a chance they’ll take someone another team has cast off.

If the final roster had to be picked today, though, Ratley probably makes the squad.
