5. Bo Scarbrough, RB, Dallas

Bo Scarbrough was a bruiser for the University of Alabama, but his roster spot with the Dallas Cowboys is up in the air with the emergence of Darius Jackson.

It didn’t help Scarbrough missed some time int he preseason with a hip injury. He returned in preseason Week 3 to rush for 21 yards on seven carries.

The sense is that the former ‘Bama back must show up and show out to stay on the Cowboys roster.

If Scarbrough gets cut, the Browns would be wise to snatch him up.

He didn’t have eye-popping numbers with the Crimson Tide, just because Nick Saban’s teams are always so loaded.

But he was a big-time contributor, who besides running for 596 yards in his final collegiate season, caught 17 passes for 107 yards.

The ability to catch passes is necessary because Matthew Dayes is the guy Scarbrough would be replacing.

The first three names on the Browns’ depth chart is pretty secure with Carlos Hyde, Nick Chubb and Duke Johnson primed to the heavy lifting.

But Scarbrough’s style is reminiscent of Hyde and Chubb. Throw in his ability to catch a pass and he’d be an intriguing pickup.
