5 reasons the Cleveland Browns will upset the New Orleans Saints
Celeveland’s EDGE
How do you defeat an elite quarterback? Knocking him over and forcing him into errors is a good start.
The Browns did an excellent job of putting pressure on Ben Roethlisberger last week, and will need to do the same in order to force Drew Brees into mistakes.
The Browns will be without Emmanuel Ogbah in this contest because of an ankle injury.
That news is softened by the play of Genard Avery, though, who was the Browns highest rated defensive player in Week 1.
Myles Garrett also continues his quest for league domination after recording two sacks on Opening Day.
Considering how bad the Saints offensive line looked in Week 1, look for defensive coordinator Gregg Williams to amp up the pressure in the trenches.
New Orleans’ blockers carried a big reputation into Week 1, but really struggled against Tampa Bay, with guards Josh LeRibeus and Larry Warford drawing grades in the 40s from Pro Football Focus.
Second-year offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk (57.0 grade in Week 1) also struggled.
The Saints may end up figuring it out because they always seem to keep Brees well protected, but there may be some flaws Garrett, Avery, and Chris Smith, who will start for Ogbah, can exploit early in the season.
And with Ward covering star receiver Michael Thomas, the hope is the rookie can give Garrett time for that extra half step that may lead to a sack of Brees.
