Another defensive player sees his stock rise in the form of Terrance Mitchell, who had two strips that forced fumbles.

If only the Browns knew how to capitalize off those takeaways…I digress.

One of the most memorable takeaways from “Hard Knocks” was Mitchell battling with receiver Jarvis Landry. Mitchell was relentless in his coverage of Landry, and his style really got under the skin of the Browns’ star wideout.

Mitchell plays like every down could be his last and as a former seventh-round pick, appears to take nothing for granted.

That mentality has led to a job as a starting corner in the NFL.

Mitchell and Denzel Ward split duties covering Michael Thomas, who had 12 receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

The first TD–a short slant from the 3-yard line–was impossible to defend, while the other was on a fade not covered well by Ward.

Not sure if this makes sense, but it could’ve been worse. I mean, Thomas caught 12 balls, but didn’t crack 100 yards receiving?

And the Saints scored just 21 points.

The secondary did enough to keep their team in this one, the Browns offense just wasn’t up to snuff until way late into the game.
