5 reasons Cleveland Browns will upset the Oakland Raiders
Raiders have problem at RT
Derek Carr was sacked three times in the Raiders most recent loss to the Dolphins, and to add another black eye, starting right tackle Donald Penn was lost to a concussion.
With Penn looking like he might not be available for Week 4, Cleveland Browns EDGE sensation Myles Garrett may get the opportunity to challenge replacement T.J. Clemmings, who gave up one one of those sacks. Garrett rushed from the left side on that memorable, late fourth-quarter sack of Sam Darnold last Thursday night.
Garrett and the Browns’ pass rush is going to have to ramp up the pressure on Carr, who’s completed an astonishing 76.6 percent of his passes through the first three weeks of the season.
Ideally, Garrett will cause headaches on the outside, while 305-pound defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi continues to create a pass rush from the interior.
Oakland and Carr enter the game ranked sixth in passing, and while he’s been crazy accurate, he’s thrown for just one touchdown against two interceptions.
Cleveland’s secondary is playing out of its mind, so if the Browns bring enough pressure, ideally, Carr will be forced into some mistakes.
Denzel Ward is just three games into his NFL career, look every bit the part of a playmaking corner.
On the opposite side, Terrance Mitchell has been an excellent compliment, forcing two fumbles against the Saints and getting the game winning touchdown to wrap up the Jets win last Thursday night.
