Denzel Ward

Of course this guy’s stock is up.

Every game he plays, the closer he comes to winning rookie of the year.

Ward had a HUGE interception of Flacco inside the red zone. A score there would’ve given the Ravens the lead, and probably doomed the Browns.

Credit to Emmanuel Ogbah on the pick, too. He put pressure on Flacco and pressured him into throwing that ball Ward‘s way.

Ward set the tone on the first defensive series, blanketing John Brown and then breaking up a pass to Michael Crabtree on third down.

Besides the interception, Ward had three passes defensed! And yeah, he blocked a field goal that had huge implications on how this game played out.

This was brought up on television, and it’s a point Browns’ fans realized in Week 1. Bradley Chubb would’ve been a solid pick with the fourth pick, but no card-carrying member of the Dawg Pound would trade Ward for Chubb right now.

GM John Dorsey nailed the fourth pick. Perhaps the Browns will give more considerations to Buckeyes coming out in the draft.
