5 Cleveland Browns whose stock dropped in blowout loss to Chargers
Antonio Callaway, WR
Antonio Callaway was targeted 10 times, he had two catches.
He also “dropped” what should’ve been a first-quarter touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield. “Drops” has to be put in quotes because Callaway technically didn’t touch the ball.
With that said, Mayfield couldn’t have placed it any better.
The truth i, for the first time, Browns’ fans are missing Josh Gordon because Cleveland is so thin at wide receiver.
The Chargers effectively took Jarvis Landry out of the game, so the Browns were left with Ratley and Callaway to save the receiving corps. Of course, as you’ve already read, there were mistakes.
Calloway still oozes talent, so something to watch with him is how he performs heading into the bye week. Can he string together some games and some consistent play where he doesn’t leave you scratching his head.
The Browns worked out Rishard Matthews prior to Week 5, but didn’t sign him. You wonder after today, if the team makes a move to bring in a veteran wideout.
