Five realistic trades the Cleveland Indians could make heading into the offseason that would improve the corner outfield spots.

The Cleveland Indians head into the offseason with concerns over who will man the Tribe’s two corner outfield spots in 2019.

With free agency beckoning, the Tribe stands to lose Michael Brantley and Lonnie Chisenhall this offseason.

Center field should be covered with Leonys Martin expected to start the season on time. He’ll be holding the spot for Bradley Zimmer, who isn’t expect to start the season on time after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Even after Zimmer returns, I’m not sure how much he’ll be able to help. He’s lightning quick, but he just hasn’t gotten it together at the plate.

The Tribe has other outfield candidates as well. Tyler Naquin will return from injury. He could be a fit for right field. Greg Allen is good defensively, but has played mostly center. Brandon Guyer can return if the Indians pick up his $3 million option.

The Indians have to make a play for a corner fielder because they’re just not going to find someone who will make all that big of a difference on the free-agent market. The front office just isn’t expected to spend money.

It’s also likely the Indians will try to patch one of the corner outfield spots together with some of the guys on the roster I just mentioned.

But with this team needed to commit to winning the World Series soon, the Tribe has to find someone who can be a contributor.

These are five realistic names the Indians should look at adding via trade this offseason.
