5. Hunter Renfroe, RF, Padres

If the Padres come to the realization that Wil Myers can’t play third base, the organization is likely to trade one of their three corner guys in Myers, Franmil Reyes or Hunter Renfroe.

All are right-handed sticks, and the need for power from the right side of the plate doesn’t look like a necessity with left-hander Francy Cordero returning from elbow surgery.

The price for Renfroe will be hight though, after the former 31st-round pick had what many consider as a breakout season. He batted .248 (.805 OPS) with 22 homers and 68 RBIs.

The Tribe has some recent history with the Padres, having dealt their No. 1 prospect, Francisco Mejia to San Diego for relievers Brad Hand and Adam Cimber before the July 31 trade deadline.

Cleveland would almost certainly have to part ways with some starting pitching. With Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco, Trevor Bauer and Mike Clevinger as the rotation’s front four, you’ve got to wonder if they Tribe would seriously considering offering Shane Bieber for someone such as Renfroe.

Renfroe is right up the Tribe’s alley is far as cost is concerned. He’s under control through 2022, which will also be his age 30 season.
