3. Chubb and Duke elusive factor

It didn’t really work out this way in Tampa, but this contest could be a good one for Nick Chubb and Duke Johnson.

The two backs posses more big-play ability than what Carlos Hyde brought to the table.

Johnson was a relative afterthought in the offense the first time these two teams met, rushing the ball five times, while catching one other pass.

Chubb wasn’t the elusive freak he’s built himself up to be through limited work entering the Tampa game, but he was still pretty good, caring the ball 18 times for 80 yards. If the Browns figure out a way to manage their running plays, there’s no reason Chubb can’t go over 100 yards, which would dramatically affect the outcome of this one.

Hyde was hardly a factor in the Week 1 matchup, rushing the ball 22 times for just 68 yards, a 2.8 yards per carry average.

If the Browns can get the running game going, life will be made a lot easier for Mayfield. Despite being pros, Browns’ coaches didn’t seem to grasp that notion during that pathetic first half against Tampa.

Much like Mayfield being an upgrade over Taylor from Week 1, Chubb’s and Johnson’s ability to hit the big play should be a huge key in helping the Browns beat Big Ben for the first time at Heinz Field.
