4. The takeaways

The Browns forced Ben Roethlisberger into three turnovers in Week 1, and the secondary’s role in stealing the ball way hasn’t ceased.

Cleveland is now tied for the league with 11 interceptions, while quarterbacks on the other team are completing passes as just a 59 percent rate (second-best in the NFL).

Denzel Ward allowed Antonio Brown to gain 100 receiving yards in his NFL debut, but he hardly let the crafty veteran take over the game. He’s going to get his yardage, as is Roethlisberger, the difference is you can’t let the perennial Pro Bowler go off for 200 yards and three scores. That spells doom.

Now, with Ward being a little more battled tested, NFL fans will be treated to a rematch of one of the game’s best wideouts and the most promising up-and-coming corners.

Ward just keeps betting and better, which is a marvel because he’s gone up against some stiff competition early on.

Cleveland will have another problem to worry about in the form of JuJu Smith-Schuster. He’s got as many 100-yard receiving games as Brown and is coming off a 13-catch, 121-yard performance against the Chiefs.

The Browns secondary is surviving the loss Terrance Mitchell, who was put on IR with an injured wrist, but the unit did hold its own against Tampa, a team that boasts a stellar receiving corps.

Cleveland moved Damarious Randall to corner to cover 6-foot-5 Mike Evans. T.J. Carrie played well against Adam Humphries in the slot and did an OK job against Chris Godwin.

The secondary’s holding up and hopefully, looking to feast off Big Ben.
