5 Cleveland Browns whose stock is down after Week 8 loss to Steelers
2. Desmond Harrison, LT
By far, this was Desmond Harrison‘s worst game as a pro. The rookie out of Division II West Georgia failed to protect the edge and was a main reason Baker Mayfield found himself running for his life most of the day.
He was flagged for two holding penalties where he twice tackled a smaller pass rusher. Of course, one of those led to a safety of Mayfield because the quarterback was in the end zone.
Harrison looks the part of an NFL tackle, but obviously the experience of pass rushers T.J. Watt, and in particularly, Bud Dupree, was too much for Harrison to handle.
Everyone knew there’d be bumps along the road for Harrison, and for the most part, he’s done a solid job.
He’s been good enough as to where the Browns probably don’t need to spend a first-round pick on a left tackle, but, as this game showed, he still needs a lot of work until he can become a consistent player.
Entering the Steelers contest, Harrison had allowed 30 pressures, the highest on the Browns. However, only two of those pressures resulted in sacks, while three others resulted in quarterback hits.
