2. Young players are going to play

Collin Sexton is just one of the young players who should see more playing time now that Ty Lue has been fired by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers’ front office wanted to see Lue give more time to younger players, according to Amico Hoops.

Lue was known as a player’s coach, and that meant being partial to veterans, according to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon. His favorability to veterans may be the reason he got canned, according to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon.

Cedi Osman should continue to see plenty of time, but perhaps Ante Zizic gets more of a look, as well.

The NBA is a 3-point shooters league, yet Zizic just seems to score when on the court. But with limited minutes this season, Zizic hasn’t had the chance to show what he can do.

Both Lue and Altman wanted to win this year, but it was clear through the GM’s statement that this was a rebuild. Altman infamously said the Cavs are in the “Player development business” just days before LeBron James signed with the Lakers.

With Lue giving minutes to veterans, you can see he and Altman weren’t on the same page.
