5. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan

Jim Harbaugh can’t seem to get a quarterback at Michigan, so maybe he’ll just come to the Cleveland Browns, where a potential franchise signal caller is already in place.

The natural ties between Harbaugh and the Browns are already there.

He grew up as a Browns fan. A previous regime tried to trade for him when he was still with the 49ers.

But could he be lured out of Ann Arbor?

It hasn’t gone as planned, as the Wolverines have yet to cut into Ohio State’s grasp on the Big Ten conference.

If there’s something to like about Harbaugh, it’s that, in theory, he’s still hungry. He made it to the Super Bowl with San Francisco, but came up short. Consider that his time in Michigan has been underwhelming, and perhaps he’d look for a fresh start with the Browns.

So why should he be a candidate?

He puts his quarterback in a position to win.

At Stanford with Andrew Luck, Harbaugh developed the greatest quarterback prospect in the last 25 years by running Luck out of the pro style offense.

In San Francisco, he built an NFC Champion based round Collin Kaepernick operating the run-pass option.

And he brings discipline, which is something the Browns terribly need at this point as the costly, dumb mistakes add up by the game.

Would Harbaugh come to a team where he wouldn’t have all the power?
