No matter where Tom Herman goes, offenses just seem to click.

And Browns’ fans who also double as Buckeye fans know the coach’s style well.

Plus, Herman caters to the players he has.

Look no further than Ohio State’s run to the inaugural college football playoff championship.

When J.T. Barrett got hurt, Herman worked with Cardale Jones and the Buckeyes didn’t miss a beat, knocking off Wisconsin, Alabama and then Oregon in the title game.

That’s really important to remember because whatever the Browns were doing with Mayfield just wasn’t working.

Todd Haley was trying to make him a pocket quarterback, and that seemed to handcuff the rookie.

It’s not that Mayfield can’t throw from the pocket, but it might have helped to roll him out to open some passing lanes.
