The Cleveland Browns are looking for a permanent head coach to lead the franchise upward. Could their next guy already be an NFL head coach?

There’s no shortage of candidates to coach the Cleveland Browns, especially given their recent influx of talent on the roster.

The defense boasts elite players in Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward, while the offense boasts nice skills position players in Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb and David Njoku.

There’s also plenty of younger players such as Larry Ogunjobi, Terrance Mitchell, Joe Schobert and Antonio Callaway that has fans excited.

Cleveland shouldn’t be coaching kryptonite this time around as the Browns search for their next head coach.

Coaching searches under the Haslam’s ownership haven’t gone great, with the first two, in particular, taking twists and turns because of coaches reportedly turning down the Browns’ overtures to take the job.

The Browns got their guy after the 2015 season with the hiring of Hue Jackson, but as we’ve all recently learned, that hire didn’t work out.

And so the Browns move forward, looking for their next head coach–the 18th in franchise’s history, all the while their rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers have had three coaches going back to the 1970s.

Former Steelers owner Art Rooney once said the key to success was having a good coach and quarterback.

That makes it paramount for the Browns to find the right leader to pair with Baker Mayfield.

The Browns, and Mayfield’s future depends on it.

Here’s five coaching candidates who already are NFL head coaches that may find their way to Cleveland. Some are longer shots than others, but none-the-less, be surprised by nothing.
