The Ohio State Buckeyes will travel to East Lansing in hopes of stringing together consecutive wins as they will face the Michigan State Spartans.

The saga continues for the Buckeyes as they will embark on another very important road trip this weekend. They will take on the #18 Michigan State Spartans in their house.

It’s been a tough season for the Bucks on the road thus far as they’ve taken on some strong opponents away from home. The season began with taking on #15 TCU on the road and then top ten divisional foe Penn State soon after.

Eventually the Buckeyes’ good favor on the road depleted as they ran into a wall at Purdue and came crashing down to earth. Speaking of that, the Buckeyes have been playing like they’ve had an injured wing for some time now.

More from Factory of Sadness

Far before the Bucks lost to Purdue, something was quite visibly not right with this team.

It’s been a mystery that nobody has been able to solve as the Buckeyes lost all of their confidence out of thin air.

Things were going incredibly well in the first few weeks but then something went out the window that completely changed the feeling around the team.

There has been some turmoil around this team as the season has progressed and it’s been evident with the way things have been going.

The Buckeyes’ struggles as a team continued last week at home against Nebraska who has just two wins all season. The Buckeyes struggled heavily on both sides of the ball. True freshman Adrian Martinez ended the game with a better quarterback rating than Dwayne Haskins.

The defense was atrocious once again as they allowed 450 total yards and four touchdowns. This total lack of competence on defense especially has to stop if the Buckeyes ever even attempt to think about doing something after the regular season.

Nothing is going to happen if they cannot stop even the most mediocre of offenses from putting up 30 points. Nebraska is fairly above average on offense but this is absolutely no way to defend a team after coming out of a bye on your own home field.

This type of performance from the defense is even more unacceptable considering the beat down they received just before the bye week.

What better way to come out of the bye week fired up than to get smacked straight down the field on a 75 yard drive off 12 plays for a touchdown to start the game? The best part was that it came from a two win team as well.

It’s absolutely unbelievable that was allowed to happen right after such an embarrassing loss to another team that barely had more wins than losses. There just has to be something going on behind the scenes that is causing this mess but whatever it is has got to get cleaned up before facing Michigan State this weekend.

This game means more to the Buckeyes than anything as there’s no more room for error.

The Buckeyes were barely able to get up after slipping over themselves last week but that won’t happen again this week. The Spartans are a fierce opponent especially at home who can and will capitalize on the Buckeyes’ mistakes.

They will absolutely feed on the Buckeyes’ miscues as they have stability problems of their own. If the Buckeyes were to put on a new look after the bye, then this would be the time to do it. Expect the Buckeyes to avoid turbulence as they make amends by defeating the Spartans this weekend.
