4. Dwayne Haskins will remind the nation how good this Buckeye offense can be

It’s been almost a month since the Buckeyes have looked great on offense. They’ve been merely pretty good in the past few weeks which would be an overstatement.

The Buckeyes started out last week’s game with a three-and-out in their first drive and turned it over twice to end the half.

Haskins has played relatively well but this team still needs more out of him if they aspire to meet expectations.

The defense is not going to do him any favors so turning the ball over cannot be in his deck of cards even once. He’s thrown at least one interception in each of his last two games.

It’s hard to expect more out of him after he’s given the Buckeyes the most production they’ve gotten out of a quarterback to this point in years but everyone knows Haskins is still capable of more.

There’s no reason the Buckeyes should be struggling to convert on short distance to gain situations with all that they have. Whether it’s a coaching error or the offensive line not performing, somebody must be held accountable for this issue.

The Bucks have K.J. Hill, Johnnie Dixon, Parris Campbell, Terry McLaurin, and Binjimen Victor at their disposal as the very least and they still cannot find a way to get two yards. That is pathetic.

Similar to the defense, the Buckeyes’ offense has a good match up against the Spartans’ defense. The Spartans give up the fourth most passing yards in the conference per game defensively. This is a great opportunity for the Buckeyes to open it back up to the passing game this week.

The Buckeyes were able to finally get their way running the ball last week which is great but they will need to turn to Haskins to get production this time.

The Spartans are especially tough against the run so it’s imperative the Buckeyes get them on their heels early through the air. Expect Haskins to have a good day in the passing game against the Spartans on Saturday.
