5 reactions as Cleveland Indians unveil Chief Wahoo-less uniforms
4. Home’s still home
The home white jerseys the script “Indians” is still in place, as it should be. I’ve always loved this uniform because of the homage it pays to the 1948 Tribe.
This shirt, plus and minus a few changes over the years, has been the Indians’ home jersey since 1994.
See, there’s some positivity here.
5. No new logo
It is a little disappointing the Indians didn’t unveil a new alternate logo to serve as a test for upset fans are forced to move on from Chief Wahoo.
That way, the organization could’ve produced some merchandise and offered fans an alternative to the boring “Block C.”
And while I call the “Block C” boring, it’s really not that much different from what a lot of other teams in baseball already do.
Think about it, it’s more common than you think for a team to use a letter as the main logo on its hats.
Who actually uses a picture logo on their hat? The Blue jays? The Orioles?
Just because the Indians didn’t unveil a new secondary logo doesn’t mean a new one is not in the works…which means I’ll hold onto my money until the day a new logo is unveiled.
