Cleveland Cavaliers rumors: Kyle Korver offered in trade for Markelle Fultz
In Cleveland Cavaliers rumors, the organization reportedly tried to move shooter Kyle Korver in a trade with the 76ers for former No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz.
If former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz has anything to offer the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers want to find out, which is why they tried to build a deal around Kyle Korver to offer the Philadelphia 76ers.
The report comes from Steve Kyler, of Basketball Insiders, who added that the deal may also include a protected draft pick. Kyler didn’t specify when the draft pick would come due. It better not be this year, as the Cavs look like a team destined to selected a top-three talent.
Cleveland isn’t the only franchise checking in on Fultz, either, according to Kyler.
"“The Cavs are just one of several teams to have reached out on Fultz, but it does not appear the 76ers are as eager to make a change as maybe Fultz’s camp may want, at least not yet,” he wrote."
The basketball scribe also noted that the NBA is still a ways away from shifting into “trade mode,” although teams may be planting the seeds for future deals right now.

Fultz is currently engaged in an awkward situation with the 76ers. He was recently benched, and then his agent announced he was going to see shoulder and wrist specialists. This has ramped up the rumors of Fultz looking for a chance of scenery.
Fultz has just 33 career games under his belt, but he’s quickly beginning to rival former Cavs’ first overall selection Anthony Bennett as the worst No. 1 pick in NBA history.
Leading up to the draft, Fultz appeared like such a safe pick and we may not know what he’s capable of being until he starts anew with another organization.
If the Cavs’ can figure out a way to swing a trade for the Washington product, all the better–as long as it doesn’t include this year’s draft pick.
If he were to blossom into an All-Star talent, the Cavs would be sitting pretty behind a core of Fultz, the future first-round pick, Collin Sexton, Larry Nance Jr. and Kevin Love (assuming he’s not traded).
If you noted, there’ a ton of “ifs” when it comes to Fultz, but making the right gamble on him may accelerate the Cavs’ rebuilding process.
As for Korver being in the deal–I think the 76ers will come around because he’s exactly what their team needs: A complimentary player who can shoot the lights out from the perimeter. The Sixers will need a player like that in the postseason.
