Breshad Perriman

Six weeks ago, Breshad Perriman’s career was on life support. A former first-round pick released by the Baltimore Ravens, Perriman’s career was trending toward flat lining.

There aren’t many more stops beyond Cleveland.

Yeah, the Browns are better now, but two months ago, we were still contemplating the fate of Hue Jackson who always lost close games.

Bottom line: If you signed with the Browns, you were fighting to keep your career alive.

Perriman was on the receiving end of a 66-yard strike from Baker Mayfield early in the first quarter. The play was crucial because the Browns were trailing 7-0 at the time. Cleveland couldn’t afford to sputter on offense.

They needed to hit the Panthers back and the Mayfield Perriman connection afforded them the opportunity to do just that.

He only had one more catch on the day, so this isn’t to make him out to be Jerry Rice. But he was a “last-chance guy” making winning contributions.

Perriman has seven catches for 188 yards this season.

Can he follow up this week with another performance that leaves fans remembering his name?

That’s the next step for this former first rounder.
