Antonio Callaway

Antonio Callaway left Browns’ fans salivating following a breakout performance during his first preseason preseason, resulting in a 54-yard catch-and-run touchdown for a touchdown

He caught a pass and took it to the house.

“Hard Knocks” caught Todd Haley on the sidelines begging Jarvis Landry to take him under wing.

In his second pro game, Callaway was on the other end of Tyrod Taylor‘s 47-yard touchdown bomb against the Saints, where his speed was on full display.

Callaway ended up having a good rookie season, catching 43 passes for 586 yards and five touchdowns, which were the most among the wide receiving corps.

However, too often, he’d disappear. In five of the Browns 16 games, Callaway was targeted fewer than three times. In two games, he was targeted once. He even played the Browns’ penultimate contest without being targeted at all.

Really, it comes down to consistency for the fourth-round pick who missed the entire 2017 college season due to off-the-field issues.

The next step for Callaway will be transitioning into somebody who can be counted on for four-to-six receptions per game.

His career is off to a nice start, but he’s poised to take another step in 2019.
