2. Terry McLaurin, Ohio State

Terry McLaurin is exactly the type of receiver the Cleveland Browns should look for in the 2019 NFL Draft because in addition to his upside, he can be an instant contributor.

This isn’t to say he’s going to start right away at receiver, rather, he can be a impact maker on special teams from day one.

He was the Buckeyes’ gunner and it’s no secret the Browns need help on special teams.

Having players who played special teams, especially at the big-time college level, should be worth their weight in gold. Experience matters and it’s a whole heck-of-a-lot better to have an experienced special teamer, rather than having someone learning on the fly.

Ultimately though, the end game for McLaurin is the wide receiver spot.

The Browns are as good as they’ve been at receiver in some time, however, there’s certainly room for improvement.

McLaurin would be an excellent addition because he won’t cost a top draft pick, and considering his upside, he would provide great value on the second day of the draft.

McLaurin flew under the radar at Ohio State and probably is still unknown to casual Buckeye fans.

As a senior, he had 35 catches for 701 yards and 11 touchdowns.

His name is becoming well known in coaching circles though, as he was the star of last month’s Senior Bowl.

McLaurin tends to catch the ball wit his body, as opposed to his hands, and he doesn’t win those contested catches.

On the bright side, though, he’s the type of receiver you’d love to get the ball to in space, because if he gets some room, he’s going to use that blazing speed to take off.

With 10 picks, McLaurin is a player the Browns must consider draft. Despite the aformentioned depth, the wideout spot is still a position of need.
