Cleveland Browns 2019 mock draft: Factory of Sadness Version 1.0
By Mike Graham
Picks 5-8
5. Tampa Bay–Montez Sweat-DE-Mississippi St.-Was tempted to pull the trigger on Devin White, but went with the Montez Sweat because finding an edge rusher is too great a need for the Bucs.
There was a mock that had Sweat being picked by the Browns at 17. There’s no way this 6-foot-6, 260-pounder makes it that far now.
Sweat was one of the stars at the NFL Combine, turning in a 4.42 40-yard dash time, which was faster than times output by Odell Beckham and A.J. Green!
6. New York Giants–Dwayne Haskins-QB-Ohio St.-In Dwayne Haskins, the Giants finally get their heir apparent to Eli Manning. Of note, 10 out of the last 11 first-round quarterbacks in the draft were acquired through a trade up, with Baker Mayfield being the lone exception.
If the Giants want him, they’ll probably have to up to get him, or else someone else might beat them to the punch.
7. Jacksonville–Jonah Williams-T/G-Alabama-Jags go with the steady Jonah Williams to help protect Nick Foles.
8. Detroit–Rashan Gary-DE-Michigan-Lions look down the road for some much needed help be keeping Rashan Gary in state. Can they get the most out of him?
