Cleveland Browns 2019 mock draft: Factory of Sadness Version 1.0
By Mike Graham
Picks 13-16
13. Miami– Christian Wilkins-DT-Clemson-Dolphins get some interior help from one of Clemson’s “Power Rangers,” Christian Wilkins.
Wilkins is another prospect who would be very tempting for the Browns because he projects as a three-down defensive lineman, and if you’re going to take someone this early, you want them on the field as much as possible to maximize their impact.
Thanks to Aaron Donald, teams are seeing that the most efficient path to sack the quarterback is up the middle, and a combination of Wilkins and Larry Ogunjobi would provide nightmares to opposing defenses.
14. Atlanta– Ed Oliver-DT-Houston-Same for the Falcons, Ed Oliver‘s weight helps solidify him as a top 15 pick.
Prior to the Combine, some had Oliver as a top 10 pick. He really didn’t do anything to hurt his stock, rather, the rush on quarterbacks, D.K. Metcalf‘s emergence and the already highly graded edge rushers will have him fall out of the top 10.
15. Washington– Greedy Williams-CB-LSU-Skins secondary isn’t getting younger and Greedy Williams helps fill that need.
Would we see the Browns trade up here to try and acquire Williams to play opposite of Denzel Ward. It would have to be tempting, and unlike year’s past, it doesn’t cost all that much to move up from 17 to 15.
16. Carolina–Jawaan Taylor-OT-Florida-I think Jawaan Taylor ultimately ends up going higher come April, Panthers take the value and run.
