Our recent mock draft had one of college football’s premier pass rushers land in the laps of the Cleveland Browns with the 17th pick.

Now, an edge rusher might not be the best choice since Vernon’s been added to fill the need.

Perhaps the Browns go with a corner to help Denzel Ward, or general manger John Dorsey could stay on the defensive line and add a defensive tackle.

In adding a pass rushing tackle, the Browns would have four players capable of bringing heat as down lineman with Garrett and Vernon on the edge, as well as Larry Ogunjobi in the middle.

Another mock had the Browns selecting Jeffrey Simmons in the draft, because if he were healthy, he’d be a top-5 pick. He’s likely to miss the entire season with an ACL tear, though. Not sure the Browns are willing to wait, though, as everything indicates this team is ready to go for it in 2019.

Free agency commences March 13, and may offer the last hint as to what direction the Browns go in the draft.
