4. Kendall Sheffield, Ohio State

Much is made of the Combine’s biggest winners, but when it comes to loser, there aren’t many who had a rougher workout than Ohio State’s Kendall Sheffield. The 5-foot-11 native of Texas suffered a partially torn pectoral muscle during his bench press.

The thing to remember about Sheffield though is that he’s an exceptional athlete who can put himself into position for takeaway opportunities. Now, finding the ball is a different story, but we’re not talking about making him a first-round pick.

The truth is Sheffield has a chance to become an NFL starter because he’s fast, having broke a 23-year old Ohio State record by running a 6.663-second time in the 60-yard dash back in February of 2018.

He was also an uber prospect coming out of college, having signed with Alabama before making his way to the Buckeyes. And even though his film might not have been the greatest from his final year in Columbus, Sheffield still managed to grab honorable mention as an All-Big Ten performer after successfully breaking up 8 passes while defending 10 others, according to his Ohio State profile.

Sheffield will likely be drafted somewhere between rounds three and five. Don’t expect him to crack the starting lineup, and that’s OK. He needs developed, but if brought along properly, he could pay dividends long term.
