The Cleveland Browns finally have the talent to contend, but there are still position battles to look at leading up to training camp.

The Cleveland Browns have been one of the most exciting teams during the offseason. Big names have been added to the team, such as Odell Beckham Jr.,  Sheldon Richardson and Olivier Vernon.

The Browns are expected to push the Steelers for the AFC North division crown, as the organization seeks its first playoff berth since 2002.

And while the Browns have added depth and are significantly better at almost every position, there are some key position battles to take note of as the team heads into minicamp camp June 4 before reconvening for Training Camp at the end of July.

If these position battles tells us anything about the current Browns, it’s that the Browns should be able to survive a key injury here or there, save for the quarterback spot.

Most of these position battles come on defense, and although you wouldn’t know it because of the OBJ acquisition, but that’s the side of the ball where general manager John Dorsey has made the most changes.

The NFL continues to trend toward offense, but when you need one stop, you better have a defense capable of getting the job done and the Browns have addressed those needs.

Here’s five position battles to watch at the onset of mini camp, which commences June 4. The event marks the last time players will be together until Training Camp commences in July.
