Wiliams vs. Mitchell vs. Carrie, CB

The Cleveland Browns knew they needed depth at corner, having learned some lessons the hard way in 2018. Denzel Ward was lost to a couple concussions, while Terrance Mitchell was lost to a wrist injury early in the season.

In their absence, the Browns ended up getting torched their fair share of times, most notably against Kansas City Chiefs’ superstar Patrick Mahomes.

Cleveland.com’s Terry Pluto wrote that incumbents Ward, Mitchell and T.J. Carrie have looked impressive. He wrote this only based off one week of organized team actives (OTAs), but none-the-less, their veteran presence takes some of the pressure off rookie second-round pick Greedy Williams.

Pluto called him “Fast’ and “Natural” at the position though, and didn’t rule out the possibility that Williams will beat somebody out for a starting gig.

Williams signed his Browns’ contract and will head into Training Camp as the most talked about rookie, especially considering his draft slide into day two.

Around the Browns’ rumor mill, there was some recent speculation Williams’ Wonderlic score caused him to fall to Cleveland.

Browns’ fans should be weary of putting Wiliams into the Pro Bowl, because the disaster that was Justin Gilbert is still fresh in our heads.

Pluto pretty much nailed in that Williams doesn’t have to start, but if he’s as good as many draftniks predicted entering the draft, then he’s more than welcome to steal a starting spot.
