Cleveland Cavaliers: 5 trade scenarios for Kevin Love in 2019-20
5. Indiana
The Pacers are rumored to “Thrilled’ over the idea of pairing Kevin Love with up-and-coming star Victor Oladipo.
The Pacers are reportedly interested in getting more offense out of their power forward position. Last season’s power forward, Thaddeus Young, will be a free agent. Love is everything Young is not. While Love can draw defenses to the corner and unclog the paint because of the threat of making a 3, Young doesn’t draw much attention.
In return for Love, the Cavs would have to take on Myles Turner, who is due to make $18 million. Turner is a great shot blocker and would actually help the Cavs’ defensively last season.
I don’t think the Pacers would be thrilled to give Turner away however, they have two core players playing the same position, with Damontas Sabonis also playing center.
Additionally, any pick should include the 18th overall pick from this year’s draft, Goga Bitzade, as well as a future No. 1.
If the Pacers want another star to pair with Oladipo, then the Cavs should make them pay, just as they did when the Wolves dealt Love to Cleveland back in 2014.
