The Cleveland Indians are in the hunt for a spot in the postseason and should look at these five trade proposals ahead of the July 31 deadline.

The Cleveland Indians leave the All-Star break as one of the hottest teams in baseball, loaded with a six-game winning streak.

At one time, the Indians were 29-30 and 11 games behind the Twins in the AL Central, however, that lead has been cut to 5 1/2 games as the Indians have pulled to 50-38.

As the Indians try to catch the Twins, they’re also well positioned to play for a Wild Card spot. However, if the next few weeks don’t go the way Tribe fans like, it’s unlikely the front office will do anything drastic to get a spot in a one-game playoff.

However, if the Indians continue to play some solid baseball in the coming weeks, then the front office will have some moves to ponder.

Keep in mind that as the Indians approach the trade market, it’s very unlikely the team is going to take on big money considering how the front office scaled back on payroll during the offseason.

Just based off the moves they made, it looks like if the Indians are going to do anything in October, they’re going to have to overachieve on the cheap.

With that said, it can be done. The Tribe can go in a couple of different directions heading into the July 31 trade deadline as you’ll see in these five proposals.

They can go for some cheap rentals or add long-term solutions to positions that will need addressed in the near future.
