Ranking 72 players as the Cleveland Browns embark on Training Camp and preseason play in a 2019 season that’s loaded with expectations.

The Cleveland Browns embark on Training Camp and the preseason with the strong roster the organization has fielded in the better part of 25 years.

Baker Mayfield is being viewed the next great franchise quarterback, while Odell Beckham Jr. is supposed to take Cleveland’s receiving corps to heights never seen before.

Excitement surrounding the Browns is as high as its been since the 1980s, when those Bernie Kosar led teams were among the cream of the crop in the AFC.

Now, the Browns have to make good on expectations as many prognosticators have Cleveland attaining double-digit wins. If the Browns were to win at least 10 games, it would mark the first time since 2007 that the franchise has accomplished the fete since returning to the NFL in 1999.

The last Browns team to win at least 10 games in the pre expansion era were the 1994 version of the Browns, led by Vinny Testaverde. That team defeated the Patriots in the Wild Card came, but the season came to an end a week later against the Steelers in the divisional round.

The Browns have more star power than they’ve ever had, but the big question that won’t be answered until Week 1 is how Freddie Kitchens will handle the duties of being head coach.

Kitchens was a favorite to win the job, especially among fans, because Cleveland basically pitted him against Kevin Stefanski when narrowing down the field to two candidates.

The truth is, even if Lincoln Riley had been lured into the job, there would be questions about his handling of the team. Kitchen is a first-year head coach. It goes against today’s culture of “finding out now,” but we’ll just have no clue until we see him on the sideline.

And when he puts those headphones on, he’ll have a nice roster to work with, based off these preseason player rankings.

Every card carrying member of the Dawg Pound loves getting worked up over rankings like this, but it’s pretty simple. These picks are determined by asking: Whom would you rather have? So scientific, Pro Football Focus will produce an analytics study. Without further ado…
