Cleveland Browns preseason player rankings led by Baker Mayfield, OBJ
Players 36-40
36. Seth DeValve: For the second straight season, DeValve goes into the season with his spot on the final 53-man roster up for grabs. As dawn comes, DeValve as the third tight end spot…for now.
37. Jaelen Strong: He might be the Browns fifth or sixth receiver, as of right now, which is a testament to how strong a depth the Browns have at this position group.
38. Chad Thomas: Like Corbett, Thomas was “redshirted” in his rookie season. Expectations will be a lot higher in 2019, though, as the Miami product is a former third-round pick. Opportunity will certainly be there for Thomas. If he can rush the quarterback from the edge, the Browns will be able to give Garrett and Vernon a chance to keep their legs fresh.
39. Kyle Kalis: The St. Edward High School product was signed toward the end of last season and impressed the Browns enough to earn first-team reps with the offense at right guard during mini camp. He’ll be competing with Austin Corbett and possibly Eric Kush for the vacancy created by the Kevin Zeitler trade. May the best man win.
40. Eric Murray: Can play safety or corner and played in a career high 757 snaps with the Chiefs in 2018. Was a non-factor in the run game though, which was already a weakness of this team. Strictly a depth piece at this point.
