8 potential cuts Cleveland Browns may watch waiver wire for in 2019
By Mike Graham
4. Hasson Reddick, LB
OK…a trade, rather than a waiver wire acquisition. But with a new regime change in Arizona, do the Browns take a swing at making a deal for Haason Reddick to keep building the linebacking corps?
Steve Wilks knows him well from his time in the desert.
Reddick was the 17th overall pick in the 2017 draft. He was even mocked to the Browns by several outlets that season, as the Browns ended up drafting Myles Garrett No. 1 overall and then Jabrill Peppers and David Njoku later in the draft.
The Cardinals hatched the idea of trading him last October, as it was reported by Jason La Canfora that he could have been dealt by the trade deadline. Well, he wasn’t, but since then, things have changed dramatically in Arizona has bet it all on a marriage between Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray.
Linebacker is one of the Browns’ biggest weaknesses on paper, The front office is hoping rookies Sione Takitaki and Mack Wilson can push veterans for playing time. If it proves too difficult for the first-year players, then acquiring Reddick is a way to improve the the position group without having to go through growing pains.
