5. Olivier Vernon

The Browns moved a valuable piece of their offensive line to bolster their defense, and while the line is suffering without Kevin Zeitler, Cleveland’s front four on defense looks stacked thanks to the addition of Olivier Vernon.

With the former Giant complementing Myles Garrett on the edge, in addition to Larry Ogjunjobi and Sheldon Richardson in the interior, the Browns are going to be a nightmare for other teams to block.

Vernon was credited with 2.0 sacks and a quarterback hit. This clip of Vernon running over Bucs’ lineman Demar Dotson is going viral.

Vernon replaced Emmanuel Ogbah on the edge. Ogbah was drafted by the Sashi Brown regime, but was given a chance after John Dorsey got the job.

After the 2018 season, it was obvious Ogbah wasn’t a productive starter and mock draft prognosticators had Cleveland selecting an edge rusher in the draft.

Then, Dorsey pulled the trigger on the Zeitler deal, which also became the Odell Beckham Jr. deal as the Browns threw in Jabrill Peppers.

Jameis Winston looked like a lost man back there when the Browns’ line was teeing off. If this game is indicative of anything, it’s that the Browns line is going going to feat in 2019.
