Cleveland Browns: 6 Browns whose stock is up after preseason finale
5. Daniel Ekuale, DT
The previous vignette just praised the be-jeezus out of Deveroe Lawrence and rightfully so. Right now, it looks like John Dorsey fleeced the Saints by trading a seventh-rounder for Lawrence.
But another guy who’s not getting as much run is Daniel Ekuale, and he probably made the team with his effort against the Lions.
Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot tweeted that she has Ekuale making the squad.
Ekuale had two tackles for a loss in his final opportunity to impress the coaching staff.
With this writer in agreement with Mary Kay, my guess is Lawrence, Ekuale and Trevon Coley end up making the squad., although I wouldn’t be surprised if Coley were released. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Richardson and frankly, I haven’t heard his name all preseason.
Again, I just got done raving about the depth Lawrence provides, so while Ekuale hasn’t had the sack number as his co-worker, he’s had a nice preseason and finished on a high note against the Lions.
