Five members of the 2019 Ohio State football program that are likely to be early-round NFL Draft picks when the next crop of Buckeyes go pro in 2020.

With the college football season starting last week with “Week Zero” and the Ohio State football program looking to embark on a new era under coach Ryan Day, there’s plenty of buzz emanating out of Columbus as the program starts the season ranked fifth in the country.

The Buckeyes will start their season with some snoozers, playing lesser opponents and that’s OK. The diehards are going to want to see the cream of the crop show up and show out.

Under Urban Meyer, the Buckeyes did wonders to produce not just NFL talent, but early-round draft picks who went into the league and made an impact from day one.

Last spring’s NFL Draft saw a Buckeye (Nick Bosa) go second overall, while quarterback Dwayne Haskins became the first Buckeye quarterback drafted in the first round since Art Schliter. This is astonishing considering the muscle Ohio State’s flexed for the better part of the last eight decades.

More recently the Buckeyes have gotten publicity for their ability to produce defensive backs, as alumni of the program are declaring the school “DBU.”

So who will be the next crop of Buckeyes to go early in the 2020 NFL Draft. These five candidates are a good bet to be picked early.
