6. Browns make the playoffs for first time since 2002
The Browns make the playoffs, but by earning a Wild Card berth. As much as it pains to me to write, I think the Steelers end up winning the division.
First of all, I don’t like that the Browns have to play the Steelers twice in three Weeks during November. I’d rather get them early, and then get them late.
In the final seven games of the season, I’ve got the Steelers going 6-1 with their only loss coming in one of their games against Cleveland. Pittsburgh has such a favorable schedule to wind down the year with Bengals, Cardinals, Bills and Jets all lined up for late November and December.
They end the season against Baltimore and sense I think the league catches up to Lamar Jackson, the Steelers should take that one, too.
So the Browns could very well go 10-6 and not win the division and that’s OK. This is still a young team getting double-digit victories is a step in the right direction.
Not sure how the postseason plays out, but the possibility of hosting a playoff game is a real possibility and if the Browns do fall short of winning the Super Bowl in 2019, the taste they’ll give the fan base will only amp things up for 2020.
