5. Redemption “Line”

The front four gets redemption against the New York Jets, as New York’s offensive line was as in much disarray as Cleveland’s protectors during Week 1.

Darnold was sacked four times and faced endless amounts of pressure, which is good for a Browns’ defensive unit that had a perceived let down against the Titans.

All preseason, fans drooled at the what the four-down lineman could do to opposing quarterbacks, but then there was defensive coordinator Steve Wilks resorting to using blitzes from the secondary to generate pressure on Marcus Mariota.

Garrett did get two sacks, while Larry Ogunjobi also go one, but Olivier Vernon was the disappearing man, while Sheldon Richardson was recognized more for committing penalties than making plays.

Simeon is a veteran quarterback who the Broncos once banked on to get to the playoffs after Peyton Manning retired. Boy, what were they thinking? He looks like a lifelong journeyman and the Browns should be able to force him into mistakes.

That starts with getting consistent pressure with the front four so as many linebackers and defensive backs can clog up the passing lanes as possible.

The Browns are too talented up front not to put pressure on Simeon If they can’t, then there are some serious issues to re-examine moving forward.
