4. Joe Schobert

Joe Schobert had a monster game for the Browns, totaling 13 tackles, 10 of which were solo takedowns. He also recorded one tackle for a loss.

The “quarterback” of the defense also played a key role in stuffing Le’Veon Bell on a key 4th and 2 in the Red Zone late in the third quarter.

The former third-round pick also made a huge play, popping the ball out of Bell’s hands near the end zone. Schobert gets knocked for not making impact plays. Well, this will stave off the doubters, at least for one week.

A great effort from Schobert was needed, as the Wisconsin product was rated 38th out of 58 graded linebackers in Week 1 by Pro Football Focus.

Schobert seemed to be up against the wall due to the additions of rookies Sione Takitaki and Mack Wilson. Takitaki has been irrelevant so far this season, while Wilso did get into the game and was playing alongside Schobert on Monday night.

Like Williams and Ward, Schobert will be tested when the Rams come to town on Sunday. The defending NFC champs aren’t pushovers like the Jets. They have talent all over the field and the onus will be on Schobert to make his tackles and hopefully add another impact play or two.
