Cleveland Browns: 5 Browns whose stock is up after Rams’ loss
4. Mack Wilson
For his first pro start, Mack Wilson turned in a solid effort. The fifth-round pick was credited with four tackles, including two for a loss. He was on the field for every defensive snap.
The Alabama product turned out to be a force in the run games with those stops and even better, PFF reported Wilson didn’t miss a tackle. Bringing players down was a concern for Wilson entering this game, as he notably whiffed on more than few tackling attempts during the preseason.
Wilson’s first start came following the announcement that Christian Kirksey was going to miss the game with a chest injury. He’s since been moved to Injured Reserve.
Wilson showed a nose for playmaking during his preseason debut against the Redskins, and while his impact in this game wasn’t as big, you can’t turn a blind eye to those two tackles for a loss.
There will surely be some growing pains with Wilson the more he plays, but just as was the case during his preseason, he showed us all that he has the potential to be a stellar player.
