3. Explore Kluber trade, but in the end, keep him

Corey Kluber will probably be a member of the Cleveland Indians rotation in 2020, but that doesn’t mean the Tribe shouldn’t explore trades for the soon-to-be 34-year-old.

The Indians were rumored to have shopped Kluber a ton last winter, as he’s making too much money for this frugal franchise.

Kluber has two option years remaining on his deal and will make $17.5 million in 2020. The Tribe recently made it known they will pick up his option. He can make $18 million in the final year of his deal.

The Indians will probably keep Kluber, just because his trade value has been dramatically reduced due to an injury plagued season.

So keeping Kluber seems more likely and that’s a great thing. He’ a two-time Cy Young Award winner and there’s some hope that some time off will see return re-invigorated next spring.

The organization learned it possesses stellar rotational depth, but the Tribe should be cautious over learning on so many younger arms. Additionally, it’s rare for a rotation to make it through the season healthy.

You can never have enough pitchers and returning one of the best of all time in Indians history is certainly helps.
