5. It’s at home

If this one were in Seattle, the Seahawks might be 21-point favorites. Thankfully, the Browns return to the FirstEnergy Stadium where they haven’t won yet this season in two chances.

The Factory of Sadness has it’s name for a reason, though. The Browns lose at home just as easily as they lose on the road. Fans are probably dreading the long walk back to the car.

So why can they win at home?.

Having Seattle fly in over from the West Coast sure beats the heck out of the alternative. Even the Bengals, a team that could legitimately lose all 16 games, gave Pete Carroll and company all they could handle in Week 1.

Andy Dalton through for over 400 yards. As already noted, the Seahawks defensive line could be just what the doctor ordered for the Browns. Cleveland’s offensive line is weak, but the Bengals’ blockers have been awful.

If they can give Dalton time, Cleveland’s starting five should give Mayfield enough time to make plays.

It’s interesting that the Browns were 2.5 point favorites in this game prior to the debacle in San Francisco, but those are the ebbs and flows of an NFL season.

One week, you’re going to the Super Bowl, and the next, you’re looking at who might be joining your team as a top-10 draft pick.

The truth is the Browns can play with a playoff caliber team, as evidenced against the Ravens. We all were reading to print division championship shirts after the Baltimore win.
